Recently, our Italian team in Quattordio had the privilege of hosting Bridging the Future, a special Open Day dedicated to welcoming the next generation of talents—and what an inspiring day it turned out to be.
Plant Manager Vito Cicala kicked off the morning by greeting university students, recent graduates, and post-graduates with a delicious breakfast. After registration, participants viewed our safety essentials video and Matteo Castello, HSE Manager Italy, introduced them our safety rules —because at Essex Solutions, we put Safety First. Always.
Elisa Sestito, CoE Representative, People Engagement & Talent Management Europe, gave an overview of how Essex operates across Europe and our proud legacy, which was brought to life through videos highlighting our history from the early Essex Wire Corporation days to today’s global footprint. Then, participants heard from Sestito about our Core Values and collaborative Company Culture. Roberto Salvaggio, Sales Director for Energy, also reviewed our products and targets markets.
The morning continued with an insightful series of interviews led by Benedetta Mazzuferi, HR Administration and Payroll Specialist Italy, with other leaders sharing what drives their departments and how innovation shapes their work. Several of our younger employees– Gabriele Bobba, Alberto Donadel, Asia De Simone, as well as Mazzuferi–also took center stage, offering heartfelt stories about their growth journeys and the opportunities the Company has provided. Participants in the day then introduced themselves—sharing their experiences, goals, and the ideas that fuel their passion for the future.
After a lunch break, the afternoon shifted into hands-on exploration. Small groups toured the plant, guided by Matteo Castello (HSE Manager), Fabio Martino (FP&A Manager) for the economics and law students, and Paola Pachera (Process Engineering Manager), for students and graduates in engineering fields.
The day wrapped with a fun team-building challenge: constructing a bridge using materials provided on the spot. Creativity soared, collaboration thrived, and one team claimed the winning certificate—but every group showcased impressive ingenuity. Final presentations of their “bridge projects” brought the event to a close on a high note.
